Police raided the property on Harling Road after receiving information about suspicious activity

A man has been arrested after police found a so-called ‘chop shop’ on an industrial estate in Norfolk.

Officers were alerted to suspicious activity at a unit at Snetterton Business Park in Harling Road, near Attleborough, on Thursday.

They found four cars and a number of car parts believed to have been stolen.

Police said a man in his 20s was arrested in Norwich on Friday on suspicion of theft, handling stolen goods and possession of class B or class C drugs.

He was released on bail until January.

A police spokesman said: ‘It is believed the premises were used as a ‘chop shop’ – where vehicles are illegally dismantled or ‘chopped up’ for parts and resold for a profit.

“Officers spent five days dismantling the site and investigations are now underway to ensure the safe return of the vehicles stolen in London to their owners.”
