Ivanhoe Mines reports fatal accident at Kamoa-Kakula copper complex

Kolwezi, Democratic Republic of the Congo–(Newsfile Corp. – August 16, 2024) – Ivanhoe Mines (TSX: IVN) (OTCQX: IVPAF) regrets to report that a fatal accident has occurred at the Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The accident occurred underground at the Kansoko mine when Mr Bruno Akake Mutombo, a Kamoa Copper rig operator, was struck by a falling ground. Mr Mutombo was stabilised by the emergency response team and evacuated to hospital but later died from his injuries.
