Indian Railways introduces 6 new trains, increasing overall capacity – Railway News

In a bid to address the increasing passenger demand, Central Railways has announced the addition of six new Mail/Express trains, each equipped with four General Class coaches and one General Class, Luggage cum Guard’s Brake Van. This addition is aimed at reducing congestion and improving travel comfort on several major routes.

  • Revised composition: 2 AC-II Tier, 2 AC-III Tier, 3 AC-III Tier Economy, 6 Sleeping Cars, 5 General Second Class (including 1 Guard’s Baggage and Brake Van), 1 Supply Car and 1 Generator Car (20 LHB Cars)
• Train No. 22629/22630 Dadar-Tirunelveli Express
  • From Dadar: Effective Date December 19, 2024
  • From Tirunelveli: Effective Date December 18, 2024
  • Revised composition: 1 AC-II Tier, 1 AC-III Tier, 1 AC-III Tier Economy, 6 sleeping cars, 5 general second class (including 1 baggage and brake van for the guard) and 1 generator car (15 LHB cars)
• Train No. 16381/16382 Pune-Kanyakumari Express
  • From Pune: Effective Date December 17, 2024
  • From Kanyakumari: Effective Date December 16, 2024
  • Revised composition: 1 AC-II Tier, 4 AC-III Tier, 2 AC-III Tier Economy, 6 Sleeping Class, 5 General Second Class (including 1 Guard’s Baggage and Brake Van), 1 Supply Van and 1 Generator Van (20 LHB Carriages)
