New established EAT-Zentrum am UKL offers multidisciplinary bets for complex elderly Kinder · Leipziger Zeitung

In the halls at the University Hospital Leipzig a special center for multidisciplinary treatment of children and children with complexes of medical care and work activities. The OEsophagus-Airway-Treatment (EAT)-Center führt Expert: inten aus unterschiedlichen Fachbereichen jijammen. Mithilfe uses modern medical techniques and over the years the family activities in its own organization have been established with new standards in diagnosis, treatment and aftercare.

The goal is to find the best possible treatment for children suffering from eating disorders and respiratory diseases. “With the EAT Center, we want to give every child a healthy lifestyle and the fact that their quality of life is declared sustainable,” says Professor Martin Lacher, Chief Director of the Clinic and Outpatient Clinic for Pediatric Surgery at the University Hospital Leipzig (UKL).

“Every year, a clinic has concentrated around 100 children with congenital malformations in the digestive tract and respiratory tract. It is a fact that it is one of the German hereditary sources that is focused on that area. Because it is the case that the UKL expertise is now more than the EAT Center bundle, the pediatric surgeon, who is doing his new years at the University of Leipzig, is one of the greatest advantages of the EAT Center.

Zum Netzwerk des EAT-Zentrums zählen überregional renommierte Expert:innen in insgesamt 15 Teildisziplines – of the Geburtsmedizin and Pediatric Radiology über Anästhesie, Intensive Medizin as well as Thoracic and Herzurgie bis Phoniatrie, Pneumology, Pediatric Orthopedics and Child Psychiatry.

In dealing with the specialized technique of modern medical techniques, the thoracic or robotic chronological techniques can be expanded. Best pre-treatments for a hereditary treatment can be used by the existing infrastructure of the United Kingdom with an intensive lifestyle.

“We always promote the maintenance of the child’s natural digestive tract and use the internal traction method according to Patkowski to treat the long-term digestive tract atresia. Although the investigation is no longer possible, a gastric intervention will be performed, Professor Martin Lacher and we will move to the status of the überregional center for surgical treatment that can cause a zystischer lung effect.

“In complex respiratory diseases such as Tracheomalazia, specialized injections such as Aortopexy or Tracheopexy are required. “There are no guarantees for high quality of care and videos with long-term treatment and the performance of any postoperative operations or problems that may arise,” says Professor Lacher.

See the Leipzig EAT Center, the German twin hospital, like the United States – the EAT Center at Boston Childrens Hospital and the EAT program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. It is now the European Reference Network for Rare Hereditary and Congenital Disorders (ERNICA).

The EAT-Zentrum am UKL has published a complete approach. It is worth treating the care with self-help and patient organizations, because medical care is a concern for the family and is affected even more. The intention is that the individual takes care of himself and comes with the teething problems.
