Oklahoma High School Football 2024 Class A-II Preseason Rankings

Here are the Oklahoma high school football teams in Class A-II, ranked first through 32nd.

Last season’s records are in parentheses.

1. Bos (12-2): The Cougars reached the Class A semifinals last year, where they lost 27-6 to eventual champion Fairview. They have eight returning starters on both offense and defense, with quarterback Trey Bennett returning for his senior season after throwing for 2,013 yards and 27 touchdowns and running for 335 yards and 10 scores.

2. Hominy (13-1): The Bucks have high expectations after reaching the Class A semifinals last season. Blaine Hipp, now a junior, was a big player, finishing with 53 receptions for 788 yards and 13 touchdowns and 78 tackles and three interceptions at linebacker.

3. Thomas Fay Custer (5-6): The Terriers will be looking to bounce back after a mixed season and have the talent to do so. The duo of junior quarterback-receiver Tye Littlebird and Landon Wald will be something to watch.

4. Ringeling (7-4): The Blue Devils lost in the first round of last year’s playoffs, but are expected to turn things around with a talented group that includes players like seniors Kysen Fincher and Payton Waldie under new coach Tanner Koons, the son of former coach Phil Koons.

5. Central Sallisaw (12-1): The Tigers are coming off a successful year and expectations remain high. Junior quarterback Braxin Goodson and senior running back Dillon Miller are among those who will try to get things going.

6. Velma-Alma (13-2): The Comets reached the Class B championship last season. Senior linebacker Brodric Spigner is one of the standouts from that team as Velma-Alma will try to make a smooth transition from eight-man football.

7. Regent preparation (11-2): The Rams moved up from Class B and have a great senior quarterback in JohnMark Roller, who threw for 2,640 yards and 28 touchdowns and ran for 2,153 yards and 38 touchdowns last year.

8. Apaches (10-2): The Warriors were quarterfinalists in 2023. Defensive lineman Brandon Lindsey is a player who stood out and he is back for his senior season.

9. Mangum (8-3): The Tigers are experienced and have several key players returning, including senior defensive end Jake Green and running back and linebacker Austin Soils.

10. Talihina (5-5): The Golden Tigers have nine returning starters on offense and defense. Sophomore quarterback and safety Landen Griffith will be one of their key contributors and could have a big year.
