Fabrizio Romano says world-class footballer has just agreed a career at Arsenal

Arsenal have not been very successful in the summer transfer window so far.

The Gunners have signed just one senior striker this summer: Riccardo Calafiori.

However, Arsenal are set to make their second signing of the transfer window.

Mikel Merino will indeed leave for Arsenal.

This deal has been in the pipeline for a while, but as we all know, a deal is only done when a contract is signed.

Fortunately, it seems we have now reached that stage.

Mikel Merino is an Arsenal player

According to Fabrizio Romano, Mikel Merino has now signed his contract with Arsenal.

The Spaniard has signed a four-year contract with the Gunners.

It won’t be long before Arsenal make an official announcement.

Arsenal have been searching for the world-class midfielder for a long time and now it looks like they have found their man.

Mikel Merino could play against Brighton

Mikel Merino has just signed for Arsenal and could make his debut against Brighton this weekend.

The Spaniard signed well in advance of this weekend’s match and could make his first appearance for the Gunners against the Seagulls.

Of course, it is unlikely that Merino will start against Brighton, after all he has only had a few days training, but an appearance from the bench is certainly possible.

Mikel Merino could be an excellent signing for the Gunners and there is every reason to be excited about his potential arrival.

Arsenal still have work to do in this transfer window. The Gunners still need a new attacking player to act as back-up to Bukayo Saka, and there could be more signings at the Emirates.

With Merino and Calafiori as new arrivals, it will be an exciting transfer window for Arsenal, but a new striker would be the icing on the cake.
