Kidnappers release videos of kidnapped brothers from Dera – Pakistan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Thursday released videos of two of the three men, including a senior army officer, who were abducted by DI Khan the day before.

The officer and his two brothers were abducted from a mosque in their native Mohalla Khadr Khel of Kalachi tehsil when they were receiving people who came to condole with them over the death of their father.

The suspected militants forcibly took away the three brothers, one of whom worked for the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board and the other for Nadra.

In separate videos, two of the kidnapped men said they were “far away” from “government-controlled areas.”

The two brothers were seen sitting in front of a black cloth, surrounded by gunmen with their faces cut off.

“We are safe and away from government (controlled) areas and in Taliban custody. We request the government and higher authorities to accept the Taliban’s demands as soon as possible to ensure our release,” the two men said.

They urged their relatives not to post anything about their abduction on social media.

There is no official statement from the ISPR.

According to reports, more people besides the three brothers have been kidnapped, but Dawn could not independently verify this information.
