Deaths after fire – Major alarm for the fire brigade in Markt Neuhodis

Newspaper delivery man discovered the fire
The fire was discovered by a newspaper delivery person at around 5:15 in the morning. The witness raised the alarm. A few minutes later, the fire brigades of Rechnitz, Markt Neuhodis, Dürnbach, Althodis and Pinkafeld arrived with 12 emergency vehicles and drone support from the air. The homeowner was rescued by the emergency services and brought to safety. After first aid, the crew of the C3 flew him to the hospital in Graz. His son was also brought out by the firefighters. Despite all attempts to resuscitate the fire victim, no rescue was possible for Markus P., born in 1977. Shortly after 6:00 in the morning, the emergency services lost the battle for his life.
