Ukraine: Horror as dozens of surrendered soldiers are slaughtered by Putin’s forces | World | News

Gruesome video footage shows Ukrainian soldiers surrendering only to be brutally murdered by the Russian invaders.

The footage, obtained by CNN, was filmed in August near the city of Pokrovsk, where Russian soldiers have been advancing in recent weeks.

In the video, three surrendered Ukrainians are killed after being overrun by the Russians.

According to a source in Ukraine’s defense intelligence service, there have been 15 similar cases since November.

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin said his office is investigating at least 28 such incidents since the war began in February 2022.

He added: “If prisoners of war surrender, if they show that they surrender, if they have no weapons in their hands, then summary execution is a war crime.”

Mr. Kostin said that Kiev “has an opportunity to claim that such a policy can be elevated to crimes against humanity. This policy is orchestrated by the Kremlin. It is an order from specific commanders.”

Other cases similar to the Pokrovsk incident include the Toretsk incident, where a unit claimed to have filmed Russian troops shooting Ukrainian soldiers emerging from a basement.

Russian soldiers are on trial accused of executing Ukrainian soldiers, including one in the Zaporizhia region.

In an incident in Zaporizhia, three Ukrainians lay face down on the ground.

A Russian commander says, “Knock them the fuck out, destroy them, destroy them.”

His subordinate replied, “I understand, copy.”

The commander added, “Once you get them to zero, report back.”

The Russians then opened fire on the surrendering Ukrainians.

A source close to the UN investigation told CNN: “The killings are war crimes in themselves… and together they could amount to crimes against humanity.”

Russia has not commented on the allegations over the execution.
