September 2024 | CLASS OF 2024: Illustrious lawyer honored with honorary award

A barrister has been awarded an honorary fellowship by the University of Wolverhampton after a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years.

Kim Carr is a partner at the full-service law firm FBC Manby Bowdler and received the 2012 LawNet Managing Partner of the Year Award for her outstanding performance and leadership.

Honorary awards are presented by the University of Wolverhampton to people who have made a significant contribution to their field.

Kim was elected president of LawNet in 2015, a position she held for seven years, the first woman in the firm’s history to hold the position.

She is also recognized as a leading lawyer in the leading Legal 500 2024 Guide and a Director of the Wombourne Special Needs Support Group, which provides leisure activities for children with special needs.

Kim said: “The University of Wolverhampton is a remarkable institution with a vibrant and diverse student population that adds so much to the local communities and I am absolutely delighted to receive this honorary award.”

The University’s graduation ceremonies will take place at The Halls of the University of Wolverhampton from Friday 6 September to Friday 13 September 2024.
