Texas Receives Projection to Land 4-Star Pass Rusher in Class of 2025

Texas Receives Projection to Land 4-Star Pass Rusher in Class of 2025

The Texas Longhorns have all the momentum in the world, on and off the field.

The Longhorns, ranked No. 2 in the latest AP Poll, have the third-best odds to win the 2024 national championship, behind Georgia and Ohio State. They just defeated No. 10 Michigan — last year’s defending champions — and it was never really close.

Then came the recruiting wins. Shortly after beating Michigan, the Longhorns picked up a commitment from 4-star DL Myron Charles out of Port Charlotte, Florida. And on Monday, Steve Wiltfong of On3Sports predicted that fellow prospect Javion Hilson, a pass rusher out of Cocoa, Florida, will also commit to Steve Sarkisian and Texas.

So it was another pretty strong week in Austin.

Hilson is a strong prospect in the Class of 2024. 247Sports has Hilson comfortably in the top 50 in the cycle, the No. 2 pass rusher in the class. Hilson attends Cocoa High School and what sets him apart is his tenacious pursuit of the quarterback, according to 247 Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins.

Texas’ 2025 class is already highly regarded. The Longhorns have secured verbal commitments from 20 players and are ranked No. 6 in the country by 247Sports.
