H2 Green Steel changes name to Stegra

STOCKHOLM, September 12, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Industrial scale-up H2 Green Steel is changing its name to Stegra. The company’s goal is to decarbonize hard-to-decarbonize industries. Stegra will do this by leveraging all three platforms it works with: green hydrogen, green iron and green steel.

H2 Green Steel was launched in 2021 to reduce emissions in the steel industry on a highly ambitious timeline. By demonstrating that it can be done, the company also wanted to inspire the existing steel industry to accelerate the pace of change. With €6.5 billion in funding secured and on track to build the world’s first large-scale green steel plant – due to start production in 2026 – the company is now embarking on a new chapter with a new name: Stegra.
