Armed Robbery and Home Invasion on South Kolin Avenue

WGN News spoke with the woman who was the victim of the incident on South Kolin Avenue.

“They were coming the wrong way,” she said. “They just drove up. They came out with their guns and they asked for money.”

According to police, the woman and her son were in a vehicle when they were approached by two armed male criminals who demanded their property.

The woman said her son wanted to take her to work, but they never left their parking spot.

According to police, the perpetrators robbed the victims and then followed them to a home, where they demanded more property. According to police, there was an exchange of gunfire in the home and the perpetrators fled. Police recovered a firearm and no injuries were reported.

According to the woman, the perpetrators exchanged shots with her brother, who she says has a CCL license.

“I just remember screaming, screaming, and the next thing I know I hear guns right up to my ear,” she said. “It was so loud. All I could hear was my brother saying, ‘Get down.'”

Brown was scheduled to appear in Cook County Superior Court on Saturday for a arraignment hearing.
