The drama “The Life of Chuck” by director Mike Flanagan is the film at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Cameron Bailey, the chef of the festivals, started a presentation in Toronto. The adaptation of a short story by the writer Stephen King with Tom Hiddleston in the lead roles was published in the Canadian Metropole.

Hiddleston played the book role of Charles “Chuck” Krantz, who has created a chronological overview of history. Other roles include Mark Hamill, Karen Gillan and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Second place went to a “Emilia Perez” by director Jacques Audiard with Zoe Saldana and Selena Gomez in the leading roles, on the Platz with Sean Bakers “Anora”. Also the best documentary film with the Zuschauer “The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal”, which won the Midnight-Madness-Prize and Coralie Fargeat’s “The Substance” with Demi Moore in the leading roles.

At festivals in Cannes, Berlin or Venice, the winning film was not selected by a jury in Toronto. States stimulate the selection of my favourite films. That year, over 250 films competed at the TIFF for the favour of the public.
