ONLINE PUBLIC MEETING SUNDAY: Mobilize the working class behind the Boeing strike! Break the isolation imposed by IAM!

On Sunday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. Pacific/5:00 p.m. Eastern, the Boeing Workers Rank-and-File Committee will hold an online meeting to mobilize wide working-class support for the 33,000 striking Boeing engineers.

The strike is the height of class struggle in the United States right now. Workers are determined to fight for what they have lost in a decade of effective wage cuts and skyrocketing living costs. Workers are also demanding the restoration of their pensions, which the leadership of the International Association of Machinists abandoned 10 years ago.

The strike itself was initiated by a grassroots rebellion that erupted after the IAM bureaucracy approved another sell-out contract that failed to provide for any of the workers’ basic needs. The workers rejected the preliminary agreement by 95 percent and voted 96 percent to strike, the first time since the 2008 strike.

Workers rejected the company’s policies and IAM’s leaders, demanding that they pay for the airline giant’s crisis, which is the result of corporate management sacrificing safety and human lives for profit.

Workers now face a fundamental challenge. The IAM bureaucracy, Boeing, and the Biden administration are conspiring to exhaust workers and starve them into submission. Workers are determined to fight, but they cannot fight this fight alone.

The Boeing Workers Rank-and-File Committee was formed to give workers the tools to control the strike, counter any attempts by the IAM bureaucracy to sabotage the struggle, and reach out to the broadest sections of workers for a common fight. Sunday’s meeting will discuss how to connect the struggle of Boeing workers with rail workers, dockworkers, teachers, auto workers, health care workers and all sections of workers in a fight for their fundamental social rights.
