Villarreal star explains what’s different about Flicks Barcelona, praises ‘world class’ duo

The league calendar includes Barcelona at La Ceramica on Sunday for a match that will certainly not be easy: the team will take on Villarreal in La Liga.

After a defeat, the Blue-green are relatively vulnerable and it will be a challenge to play them out against Marcelino’s in-form team.

What is striking, however, is that Barcelona have gone 16 games unbeaten in the stadium and they are looking to continue this streak this weekend.

Villarreal mainstay speaks out about Barcelona

Ahead of the clash between the two in-form teams, Villarreal midfielder Alejandro Baena spoke to the media and commented on Barcelona’s style of play this season and how it has differed from previous editions.

“It’s not the Barcelona of a few years ago that didn’t generate and score so many goals. This team is very vertical,” Baena said in an interview with Gol.

“They put pressure on you all the time and don’t let you breathe,” He added that the Catalans tried again without the ball.

Baena then praised two of Barcelona’s biggest young stars, Pedri and Lamine Yamal, saying:

“Pedri and Lamine Yamal are like two 10-year-olds, very modest. As footballers they are world class.”

Baena is expected to start for The Yellow Submarines in La Ceramica and has been in good form this season.

In just four La Liga games so far, the 23-year-old has provided two assists, created four big chances and averaged an astonishing 4.5 key passes per game. Needless to say, he will be the cause of much of Barcelona’s worry on the night.

For the Blue-greenThe clash is about mentally recovering and returning to the field stronger than ever.
