‘Luxury’ 4-star B&B that tops the list for cheap hotels | UK | News

A hotel on the picturesque English Riviera has been named one of the cheapest places to stay in Britain, while still offering a touch of luxury.

The family-run Trelawney Hotel in Torquay, Devon, has secured its place in Tripadvisor’s top ten cheapest hotels. And room rates start at just £58 per night.

Despite the affordable prices, the Trelawney Hotel offers “luxury” bed and breakfast accommodation. Just 300 meters from Torre Abbey Sands, Torquay’s main beach, the hotel is praised for its top quality and service.

The Trelawney offers a range of rooms, all with private bathrooms, TVs and free drinks trays. Visitors have most often praised the hotel’s cleanliness and freshly prepared breakfast, which reportedly features local ingredients.

There is also plenty to see for those who want to get out and about. Not only can families enjoy long sandy beaches and stunning views of Brixham, they also have easy access to Torre Abbey Meadows and Torquay town centre.

The hotel’s website states: “Liz and Paul welcome you to the Trelawney Hotel in Torquay, in the heart of the English Riviera. Luxury Bed & Breakfast accommodation with all the warmth and comfort you would expect from a family business.

“Whether you prefer a quiet, relaxing stay in and around Torquay or an action-packed holiday with something different every day, you’ll find it all on the English Riviera in Devon.

“(We are) an award-winning bed and breakfast establishment with a warm and welcoming atmosphere… to ensure that the duration of your stay is an enjoyable experience.”

For those looking to venture even further afield, the hotel is perfectly located for exploring the South Devon coastline and Dartmoor National Park. Although it ranks fourth on Tripadvisor’s cheap hotels list, it offers lower rates than the hotels above it, making it the perfect choice for a budget-friendly getaway.

A guest who stayed in June wrote a review: “Fantastic hotel. Fantastic value for money and only a five minute walk into town. Liz and Paul, the owners are very friendly and are very good hosts.”

Another added: “The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. A real home from home.”

The English Riviera describes a 35 kilometer long coastline of South Devon. It is one of Britain’s top holiday destinations, made up of seaside resorts, rocky coves and picturesque villages.
