Meghan Markle turned heads after a surprise solo appearance at the LA Children’s Hospital gala last night, wearing a glamorous red Carolina Herrera dress.

The Duchess of Sussex greeted young fans at the star-studded gala, which also featured Kaley Cuoco, Jamie Lee Curtis and a live performance from Demi Lovato.

Meghan previously wore the beautiful dress to a 2021 veterans gala in New York City.

Photos from the event show her laughing with the children and parents at the event, jokingly saying to one youngster, “Isn’t it past your bedtime already?”

Her night out came after news that Prince Harry celebrated his 40th birthday without her, instead opting to take a stroll in Lesotho with some close friends.

It comes as the couple have reportedly been focused on pursuing their own individual goals in recent months, with Harry focusing on his patronage work while Meghan pursued her own ventures.

However, sources deny any major tension between the couple and say they remain strong despite differing priorities.

A source close to Prince Harry told the Daily Mail that the increasing number of solo activities could be part of an effort to rebuild his image on the world stage.

“I heard that’s how he wanted it,” they said. “I think he wants space.”

“But there will be concerted efforts around those purpose-driven work areas.”

Another source close to the Sussexes said: ‘This definitely feels like he is taking his game to the next level to cement his position as a serious player on the international stage.’

‘He has always been desperate to be taken seriously and people I know say his fall from grace will really get to him.’

Harry has reportedly made 10 solo appearances without Meghan in the past 15 days as he embarked on a “quasi-royal tour” of three countries including New York, London and Lesotho.

It has also been reported that Meghan had to leave a charity event she was due to attend with Prince Harry because she was ‘sick’.

Last year it was claimed the couple were spending extended periods apart, but this was denied by sources close to them. It was said that like any couple, they had their differences but remained strong.

It is also claimed that disagreements have arisen between the couple over how to raise their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.

Although Harry prefers to keep them out of the public eye, Meghan reportedly wants them to attend more local events, the Sun reports.
