Deliveries soar, orders soar amid challenges

Airbus, the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer, showed resilience in September by delivering 50 planes to 29 customers despite persistent supply chain hurdles. This brings the total number of aircraft this year to 497, keeping Airbus on track to meet its target of approximately 770 deliveries by 2024. Strikingly, the company received 235 new orders last month, which underlines the aviation industry’s confidence in the future of Airbus. However, the company’s shares saw a slight dip on Tuesday, closing at €126.00 on the XETRA exchange. Nevertheless, analysts remain optimistic and predict an average price target of € 161.56, which suggests a potential upside of more than 28%.

Market position and investor prospects

Airbus maintains a significant lead over its US rival in aircraft deliveries, strengthening its market position. In the first eight months of the year, Airbus delivered 447 aircraft, far surpassing its main competitor. This performance bodes well for the company’s stock, despite challenges such as production bottlenecks and increased quality controls. Investors are closely watching delivery figures and possible adjustments to production targets, especially as Airbus approaches its quarterly results at the end of October. The expected dividend payment of €2.23 per share for the current year represents an increase compared to the previous year and provides an additional incentive for shareholders.
