Best Black Ops 6 Tanto .22 Gear and Class Lineup

Best Black Ops 6 Tanto .22 Gear and Class Lineup

Want to build the best Tanto .22 loadout in Black Ops 6? The Tanto .22 comes out of the gate fast and heavy in Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6, mowing down the opponent with hard force. With excellent three-shot kill potential, the Tanto .22 shines in close- and medium-range encounters and can easily go toe-to-toe with an assault rifle.

In this guide, we’ll break down our favorite Tanto .22 loadouts, including the best attachments, secondary weapons, perks, and other gear needed to make this already awesome SMG the cream of the crop in Call of Duty multiplayer : Black Ops 6 .

Why use the Tanto .22 in Black Ops 6?

Right now, when it comes to the best SMG in Black Ops 6, there are two weapons that rank at the top: the Tanto .22 and its closest rival, the Jackal PDW. Personally, I rate the Jackal PDW a little higher, but the Tanto .22 is still excellent, especially in the firepower department. The rate of fire is slow, but with the right attachments we can fix that so he can blast through the competition. Chances are, as Black Ops 6’s meta evolves and weapons get buffs and nerfs, the Tanto .22 might end up being the head of the pack. So if you dig SMGs, it’s worth investing in this weapon.

Best Tanto .22 Gear in Black Ops 6

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Walk: Long barrel
  • Underrun: Vertical handle
  • Stock: Balanced stock
  • Fire mods: Rapid fire

Our equipment is designed to correct the slow rate of fire of the Tanto .22. We will also be working on its mobility, focusing on the idea of using this weapon as a short and medium range blaster.

Muzzle: Compensator

The Compensator will provide us with a much appreciated help with vertical kickback control. If you don’t want to use the Compensator and prefer a more stealth-oriented approach, the Tanto .22 also works well with the Suppressor Muzzle, which keeps your location outside the enemy minimap.

Barrel: Long barrel

For a range improvement that makes the Tanto .22 a little better at short ranges, equip the Long barrel. For anyone who struggles with accuracy, the Short Barrel is also okay, but personally I always go for the Long Barrel to make the significant damage output of this weapon just a little bit more attainable.

Bottom barrel: vertical handle

While the compensator handles our vertical recoil, the Vertical handle will help us nicely with horizontal recoil. The Ranger Foregrip also suffices as an alternative choice, especially if you decide to go with the Short Barrel instead of its longer counterpart.

Stock: Balanced stock

Complementing our mobile build is the Balanced stock works well for nice improvements to handling and all-round movement. Choosing No Stock is also a viable option if you want to be ultra-slim and fast, without anything holding you back.

Fire Mods: Rapid Fire

I like to put Fire Mods on most of my SMG loadouts to really take advantage of the fast shooting potential of a submachine gun. The Rapid fire mod is a great option, albeit one that gives us some knockback, but nothing serious that our Muzzle and Underbarrel choices can’t rectify.

Best Tanto .22 Class Lineup: Secondary Weapons

XM4

Equipping the Overkill Wildcard allows you to use another primary weapon as a secondary weapon, which means pairing the Tanto .22 with something like the XM4 is possible. The SMG and AR combo is unbeatable, but if you’d rather not go the Overkill route, you can get by by using any gun as a secondary gun.

Best Tanto .22 Class Lineup: Equipment and Benefits

Equipment: Impact grenade, stim shot, assault package.

Gear is largely a matter of what works best for your personal playing style, but when rocking the Tanto .22 I’ve found success with the Impact grenade for precise explosive power that can sustain me in a pinch. The Encourage shot is a no-brainer for healing and a fun way to refresh Tactical Sprint. And the Assault package keeps you in the game longer, allowing you to reload new ammo.

Advantages: Agility, Gung-Ho, Double Time, Enforcer.

I went with Perks here, focusing on speed and maneuverability. Agility will reduce weapon swing while jumping, sliding and diving Gung Ho lets you reload while using your Tactical Sprint. Double time goes hand in hand with Gung-Ho and extends the duration of your tactical sprint.

Complete this trinity of Perks with the Enforcer Specialty perk, which gives you a nice, welcome buff to movement speed and health recovery when you score a kill.

Best Tanto .22 Alternatives in Black Ops 6

Jackal PDW.

I’ve already mentioned it all in this guide, but the Jackal PDW is the closest competitor to the Tanto .22 and deserves your time and attention. You get a better rate of fire with the Jackal PDW, along with expert time-to-kill stats. The power isn’t as great as the Tanto .22, but many players will find the Jackal PDW a faster and arguably easier shooting experience. Our Jackal PDW gear guide has more details.

That completes our guide to the best gear for the Tanto .22. For a complete overview of every firearm in Black Ops 6, check out our guide to the best weapons in the game. We’ve also got lists of how to unlock every weapon and operator, if you’d rather have that information at your disposal!
