Alabama Baseball Lands Commitment starting in 2026 right-handed pitcher

Alabama baseball continues to build a strong 2026 recruiting class.

The Crimson Tide made a new deal this week, signing right-handed pitcher Arian Vargas. With his announcement, Alabama has nine commits for the class of 2026.

Hailing from Lanham, Maryland, Vargas is 6 feet tall and 200 lbs. and is the sixth right-handed pitcher to commit to Alabama in the class of 2026, joining Shawn Sullivan of Barberton, Ohio, Hudson Devaughan of Mooresville, Indiana, Brighton Fontaine of North Wales, Pennsylvania, Tate Troxell of Noblesville, Indiana and Evan Malone from Tuscaloosa.

Rob Vaughn and his staff have put together a top-10 recruiting class for 2025 and, thanks to Vargas’ efforts, are now ranked 17th for 2026, according to Perfect Game.

Vaughn led the Tide to a 33-24 record in his first season as head coach and looks to continue building this year after bringing in a lot of talent this offseason. Alabama will have a lot of work to do in the SEC this season, as 11 of the conference’s teams are currently ranked in Baseball America’s top 25.

The Crimson Tide recently traveled to Tallahassee, Florida, for an exhibition game with Florida State and went 15 innings against the Seminoles, winning the first seven and dropping the last eight. The preseason polls/rankings have Florida State in third place, so a solid performance for Alabama could be a good sign for the upcoming season.
