Jason Raubenheimer took his first first-class four-wicket haul as he helped Dafabet Warriors bowl out Goldrush Boland for 500 in the first innings of their CSA 4-Day Series match at Boland Park on Friday afternoon. At tea the Warriors were 19 without a loss.

The Warriors trail Boland by 481 runs with 10 wickets in hand. The Warriors had Jordan Hermann (10*) and Jean du Plessis (6*) in the crease at the break.

500 is Boland’s second highest total since they became an independent union.

Jason Raubenheimer took his first first-class haul of four wickets, picking up three quick wickets in the post-lunch session. The 25-year-old came into the match with one wicket in three first-class matches. He took that wicket in 2020 for Border in a match against South Western Districts. Raubenheimer’s first wicket in Division One cricket was the dismissal of Shaun von Berg.

The spinner toiled long and hard on a wicket that offered little help to bowlers. He was rewarded for his efforts with four wickets for 106 runs in 28.1 overs. One of Raubenheimer’s victims was Keith Dudgeon.

Dudgeon narrowly missed out on a seventh first-class half-century. The 29-year-old holed to Matthew de Villiers at deep mid-wicket for a well-played 46 off 73 balls. 3.4 overs later, De Villiers took another diving catch to earn the Warriors their third wicket of the post-lunch session. The hosts had just added 24 runs to the total since Dudgeon’s wicket.

Duanne Olivier and Siya Plaatjie were the second best performing bowlers for the Warriors with a pair of wickets each. Ethan Frosler and Senuran Muthusamy rounded out the wicket-takers with a single wicket each.
