Salzburger Pfingstfestspiele 2025: Venedig in the Mittelpunkt

Nach Rom und Sevilla in Bartoli’s New Year’s Eve from June 6 to 9, 2025 in the “Städtereise” in the Salzburger Pfingstfestspiele with the Venedig Fortress. In “Hotel Metamorphosis” the music of the Veneto natives Vivaldi is combined with Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Design and direction by Pasticcios responsible Barrie Kosky. Anyone who spends the years with Bartoli is self-conscious of the stage, and as dark as Arachne and Eurydice. We listen to Varduhi Abrahamyan, Lea Desandre, Philippe Jaroussky and Angela Winkler as Orpheus. Gianluca Capuano conducts Les Musiciens du Prince – Monaco and Il Canto di Orfeo.

With that Orchester and Chor Capuano performed at a “Marienvesper”, in the Mittelpunkt Musik by Claudio Monteverdi, the Domkapellmeister of San Marco during the Venedig War. In this concert, Bruno Mantovanis Komposition “Venezianischer Morgen” is played for the choir a cappella, which I will come to live with.

“La traviata” was to take place in the Venezian Teatro La Fenice, in Salzburg, where the work of the Pfingstsonntag konzertant zur Aufführung was performed. Nadine Sierra, Piotr Beczala and Luca Salsi sing the leading roles.

This ballet is released years later: Thomas Mann’s novella “Tod in Venedig” is the Grundlage, with the John Neumeier a choreography for his Hamburg ballet, which is released in Salzburg. Ebenfalls im Programm is a chamber musical matinee with Wagner’s “Wesendonck-Liedern” as well as “…sofferte und serene…” by Luigi Nono, the ebenfalls in Venedig zur Welt kam, in any case a two pasticcio with pieces from the opera by Gioachino Rossini , die in der Lagunenstadt uraufgeführt wurden.

Zur Begründung für Venedig als Mittelpunkt des Festivals zierte Bartoli in der Aussendung Friedrich Nietzsche: “If I have another Wort for Music suche, so finde I immer nur das Wort Venedig.”
