VINCI wins a contract to design and build a new waste-to-energy plant Correze

Design and construction of a new energy plant for household waste (79,000 tons per year)
51 months of work with 200 direct jobs at the peak of activity
Contract worth more than €100 million

VINCI Construction, through its subsidiaries VINCI Construction Grands Projets (main contractor), GTM Sud-Ouest TP GC and Chantiers Modernes Nouvelle-Aquitaine, has been awarded the contract by Veolia for the design and construction of a new household waste power plant.

The domestic waste-to-energy plant, located near Brive-la-Gaillarde, will replace the existing installation. It will have a processing capacity of almost 10 tons per hour (79,000 tons per year), equivalent to the annual waste production of 200,000 inhabitants.

This project, worth over €100 million – which will employ almost 200 people at the peak of its activity – will improve the environmental efficiency of the plant by adding latest generation processing systems, in particular for the treatment of flue gases. The electricity and heat produced will be used by local industrial and community facilities.

VINCI Construction’s companies have built up solid expertise in the field of waste processing and waste-to-energy systems. In France, they are mainly building or modernizing waste-to-energy plants in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, Nice and Ivry-sur-Seine.
