Class 6 student in Delhi takes gun to school mistaking it for toy – Delhi News

On Saturday, a pistol was found in the school bag of a class 6 student of Green Valley School in Delhi. When Delhi police reached the school, they found that the student had brought his late father’s licensed pistol to school in his bag, thinking it was a toy.

The gun was found without a magazine, which immediately raised concerns among school officials, who had already contacted the boy’s mother. The student’s mother explained to police that her deceased husband had been in possession of the licensed gun, which she had planned to deposit at the police station. However, due to a mistake, the gun ended up in her son’s school bag.

After checking the firearm’s license, the police confirmed that it was valid and that no offence had been committed. The mother then deposited the gun in the property room of BHD Nagar police station on the same day.

Delhi Police have closed the case, stating that the incident was a genuine mistake.
