Bus crash kills 7, injures many others

SUMMARY: A tragic bus crash east of Vicksburg left seven people dead, including an 8-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl. Dozens of victims were transported to various hospitals, including UMMC, following the incident at approximately 12:30 a.m. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has sent a Go Team to investigate, led by investigator Steve Prowdy. Investigators will look at multiple factors, including vehicle safety, tire maintenance and occupant protection. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences and stressed the seriousness of the crash. The county coroner is waiting to identify two victims before releasing names as additional investigators arrive on the scene.
