Space Marine 2 Reveals ‘Plans’ to Add More Classes Beyond First 6

In addition to the main campaign, the game features a variety of game modes and features that allowed it to become a huge hit. One of them is character classes, which completely change the landscape of each battle. Saber Interactive recognizes their importance and has already “plans” in motion to introduce more classes to enhance gameplay.

Space Marine 2 Urgently needs more classes

Alongside other Ultramarines, gamers fight against an alien invasion force. Space Marine 2 have six different classes to choose from as you fight back against the hordes of Tryanids and other threats. Each class brings with it a different skill set, while some specialize in specific weapon types.

While they are certainly a defining addition to the title, gamers can’t help but wonder if the Saber will ever add more to the game. In an interview, the studio’s Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, spoke about the game’s development. When asked if more class expansions will ever be added to the game, he had this to say:

Yeah, we have plans. There’s new stuff coming for everything.

It’s great to see that the development team is actively listening to player feedback and plans to add more classes to the game with future updates. However, we can’t help but think that the addition of Techmarines as a class will change the meta in Space Marine 2.

If you are not aware, in the Warhammer 40k universe, Techmarines are specialized soldiers known for maintaining and repairing advanced machinery, vehicles, and weapons. Trained directly by the Adeptus Mechanicus, they possess both combat prowess and deep technical knowledge.

In Space Marine 2Techmarines, as a character class, could switch between combat and support roles. Equipped with ranged weapons and servo arms, they can help deploy defensive turrets and target nearby enemies.

Their mechanical expertise can enhance their attack while still maintaining their usefulness on the battlefield. The potential is limitless when it comes to a powerful class like this.

Even before Space Marine 2 debuted, critics praised several elements of the game, and now that it’s finally hit shelves, gamers can’t get enough. According to SteamDB, the title peaked at 225,690 concurrent players.

Although it is not as impressive as Helldivers 2it has certainly set a new precedent for the industry. The Space Marine sequel is the most played War hammer title ever and easily beats all previous installments in the legendary series.

Gamers have consistently praised Saber’s attention to detail for the game’s campaign mode, which runs for 15 hours and tells a deep story without sacrificing action. It’s a vast improvement over the original game in terms of graphics, sound, and gameplay aspects.

What’s even more fantastic is the game’s customization options and cooperative multiplayer modes, which take the gameplay to the next level and offer new ways to fend off the alien horde.

We already have a post-launch roadmap for the game that will bring new additions including weapons, skins, features and much more. With Henry Cavill’s plans to bring the franchise to the big screen soon, the future looks bright for Space Marine 2.
