Last year America Ferrara went viral Barbie The monologue reminded the world how “impossible” it is to be a woman. It struck a chord with female viewers, because we spend our lives balancing the needs of everyone around us – and our own – and it’s a thankless job. That’s why Oprah sat down with Lori Gottlieb, a therapist and author of the book New York Times bestseller Maybe you should talk to someonefor the lesson ‘The life you want’: mental strain.

“Women have to deal with a lot, and we can’t complain about that,” Gottlieb told the live audience during the recording. “We need to apologize when we feel like we’re going through a hard time.” Gottlieb spoke to the audience about their struggles balancing motherhood, career, relationships, anxiety and more, and provided meaningful advice you can learn in the classroom. “The message I want to convey to women is that we are not here to manage the lives of others. We have to pay attention to our own lives,” she said.
