Two 2027 recruiting targets the Vols don’t want to miss

Two 2027 recruiting targets the Vols don’t want to miss

It’s always good when a team can recruit not only in the class that is batting, but also in the class that is on deck or in the hole. With the 2025 class nearing its end and early signing day starting in just over a month, the Vols have begun making the 2026 and 2027 classes a priority.

With 2027 still two recruiting classes away, there aren’t many names circled as final names, but there are two names to keep an eye out for.

The first player is Kesean Bowman. Bowman is a wide receiver from Nashville, Tennessee. The talented wideout has already made headlines with his performances this season with current Vols commit George MacIntyre at Brentwood Academy High School. Bowman was the top target at the position for the Vols and has family ties to D1 football. Three of his uncles have played D1 football in the past.

Bowman spoke to Tennessee at SI in the past after a visit and had nothing but good things to say. The Vols have emerged as an early contender and leader for the prospect as he has already visited the Vols three times this season with hopes of a fourth visit.

The second name to watch is David Gabriel-Georges. Gabriel-Georges is a running back prospect from Baylor High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is the same high school that current Vols commit Joakim Dodson attends. Gabriel-Georges was the dynamic duo pairing with Ole Miss commit Shekai Mills-Knight for the Baylor Red Raiders, playing on par with the SEC commit. Gabriel-Georges has served on the boards of many teams and was the fastest rising player in the state of Tennessee this season.

Tennessee on SI caught up with Gabriel-Georges who came away impressed after visiting Knoxville when the Vols were against the Florida Gators. It appears he has become the Vols’ top target at RB early on.

Tennessee typically does an excellent job in-state and the class of 2027 has two top targets that the Vols don’t want to miss.
