Georgia Tech gets commitment from 2026 five-star giant Moustapha Diop

Moustapha Diop, the top-ranked center in the 2026 recruiting class, committed to Damon Stoudamire and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Wednesday, according to On3.

Diop is a 6’10 center from Overtime Elite in Atlanta, a basketball powerhouse right in Georgia Tech’s backyard. Diop chose the Yellow Jackets over offers from several other programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia, Missouri and Cincinnati, among others.

Diop is the No. 14-ranked player in the class of 2026 according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, and ranks second among players in the state of Georgia.

Stoudamire made a point of prioritizing in-state recruiting when he took over this Yellow Jackets program ahead of the 2023-2024 season, and Overtime Elite has become a nice little pipeline for GTech as of late.

Georgia Tech’s current freshman class includes two OTE players – Darrion Sutton and Jaeden Mustaf – while Stoudamire already secured two in 2025 in Akai Fleming and Cole Kirouac. Sutton, Mustaf and Fleming are all four-star recruits, while Kirouac is a three-star recruit.

However, Diop is Stoudamire’s first five-star recruit and Georgia Tech’s first five-star recruit since Robert Carter in 2012.

The Yellow Jackets had several big wins last year and have made waves on the recruiting trail, but Stoudamire still has to prove he can get this team to the NCAA Tournament. Once that starts to happen, this program could be a force to be reckoned with in the ACC.
